Message to the Adventurer
We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and excitement. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.
Imagine: Putting yourself in a state of mind where you realize there is an opportunity to celebrate like never before your own freedom, your own ability to get yourself to do whatever is necessary to feel that wilderness is a necessity, that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life; that they offer a fighting challenge to heart, soul, and mind in summer and winter.
If throughout time the youth of our nation accepts the challenges that mountains offer, they will keep alive in our people the spirit of adventure. That spirit is a measure of the vitality of nations and men. A people who climb the ridges and sleep under the stars in high mountain meadows, who enter forests and scale peaks, who explore glaciers and walk highlands buried deep in snow - these people will give their country some of the indomitable spirit of the mountains.
For us, and for thousands with similar inclinations, the most important passion of life is the overpowering desire to escape periodically from the clutches of a mechanistic civilization. To us the enjoyment of solitude, complete independence, and the beauty of undefined panoramas is absolutely essential to happiness.
Many people will walk in and out of your life, but true friends, like Wild Georgia! will leave footprints in your heart.
